I have diabetes, osteoarthritis in the lumber region and swollen feet. I did try and ring you Saturday morning, as my last order arrived and fit brilliantly and yes, I was crying, not with sadness but tears of superb joy. In fact I went on and did the housework in my boots, my feet were so warm and comfortable. I have lived in hell for the last 14 years; squashed and giant mens shoes size plus 12. In fact I started not going out because two hours in bad fitting shoes caused me so much suffering and soreness to my feet which lasted all day and evening. I decided to spoil myself in more of your shoes for Christmas.

I received my Diss trainers today. I only ordered them on Sun eve, delivered Wed. I love the shoes, I got the blue colour. I've not taken them off all day. The toe box is really roomy and deep. The uppers ate soft and pliable but they still give me plenty of support. There is plenty of width to the shoe but the heel still fits snugly. I've even got space to leave the insoles in and wear socks. I am really pleased, I can't fault them. Thank you.

I would just like to say that since the early Summer we have purchased 8 pairs of your lovely shoes.!! They are all beautifully made and sooo comfortable, I started off with Whitworth white 2v size 6 and then bought the navy pair, best trainers that I have ever bought for my Bumpy feet!, and even my grown up daughters think They are right on Trend!!!! I then bought 2 pairs of Sussex sandals, also 2v 6, best pairs of sandals I have bought, so comfortable, and two pairs of Caroline animal print orange, to wear as slippers and outside shoes, again they are very comfortable. My husband has had two pairs of shoes, Declan navy size 8 2v and Washington wine sz 8 2v, and he says also very comfortable indeed. My husband and I visited your premises in Rushden today for his foot measuring and fitting appointment, which we had booked to buy some walking boots. He has always found it difficult to buy well fitting footwear due to the shape of his feet. I don’t often leave reviews, but I wanted to thank you for the excellent service we received from Sue today. She spent the full 45 minutes with us to make sure he was happy with his boots and that they were well fitting. Nothing was too much trouble for her and we lost count of the times she went to the store room to find alternatives for him to try. She clearly had a great understanding of fitting and the products available. We both went home delighted with the experience and the boots. It is the first time in as long as I can remember we have had such a positive experience when shopping!

I had been searching for a pair of shoes for around two weeks or so now before suddenly coming across yourselves. What a great stroke of luck. You have saved my sanity (hope thats not too strong an expression). Very briefly I took up running on my 60th birthday and having completed a couple of half marathons vowed to complete a marathon by the time I reached my 70th. Alas the running had an adverse effect on an underlying problem with my right foot and was advised to have a corrective operation with the assurance that there should be no problem in resuming my running pursuit a little later. Alas things did not go as expected and I incurred a severe infection in that leg and foot and then during the post op period with inadequate orthopedic footwear, I fractured my toes and worse still, at a different time, fell heavily on my "good" foot and to this day now have two badly swollen feet (two years later). I was getting very despondent particularly as I could not run any longer, not even exercise properly. So I finally decided to take the advice from my hosdpital consultant and get some shoes so that I cold undertake long walks as part of my rehablitation. However I could find no one catering for swollen feet So coming across your very professional website was a breath of fresh air. I followed your instuctions (and the videos were particularly helpful) but had to phone for some assistance. I spoke to a lady named Kim who was so courteous and helpful, a real ambassador for your company eminating such goodwill. I duly ordered the shoes she recommended the next day and despite her reservations about chrismas and the mail strikes, the shoes were delivered yesterday on the 22nd, less than24 hours late! Unbelievable! The shoes fit a treat and I have now ordered a pair of slippers from you. So thanks again for such a fantastic and invaluable service, unfortuinately very rare theses days and if the occasion should ever arise, I will have no hesitation in recommeding your company.

I thought I would drop you a line to say how pleased I am with my Colorado walking boots, I love walking in the Devon and Cornwall countryside sometimes walking quite a long way. During the last autumn and winter I developed a fast growing and very painful bunion on my left foot, this added to my weak ankle, collapsed metatarsal arches and less painful old bunion on my right foot left me depressed, thinking that my countryside walks had come to an end. At least that was until I remembered your website, I found these boots and the other day spent a whole day walking and birdwatching with my wife with very little or no pain in my feet. I'm a new DB customer and I'm delighted with the three pairs of shoes I've bought. I'd reached the stage where walking was so difficult that I was in constant pain. Now, I'm walking comfortably, even when road surfaces are rough and so my fitness and physical stability are improving. The side zip in my boots means I can take them off easily and it's great to have the option of inserting insoles. I thought you would like to know of the excellent service I have received from your staff recently. I returned a pair of shoes and after posting realised I had not removed an orthotic. I spoke to Sam who could not have been more helpful, friendly and efficient. She told me she would ensure that once the shoes were received the orthotic would be retrieved and posted back to me by first class post. I received the it today. Without it walking is most uncomfortable and whilst it might seem a small matter it is most important to me. I am a very recent customer ( recommended by my podiatrist) and have been impressed not only by Sam but other staff I have dealt with all of whom who clearly put customer service and satisfaction at the top of their priorities . You have staff whose ethics and values come through very strongly and are a credit to you and your company, please thank them for me.

Good Afternoon, Just a quick thank you for supplying the size 7 Caroline Wide fit slippers. My wife Katherine, who is in a Care Home, had trouble walking in the High street Slippers, which were always too tight, no matter what size I tried. Her swollen feet did not help. She could not walk more than a few steps before but, today she is off down the corridor without any pain in her feet. The pull out insoles are great, as you can get the right fitting for each foot. Guys, Just to let you know (although I'm sure you know that already) your shoes are amazing. I've struggled with getting the right fit of shoes for more than a decade. I have arthritis, flat feet which are also extremely wide (end of your scale), I need to have massive insoles, without them I can barely walk. My boots just arrived and I am delighted to say they fit with enough room to wear warm socks if required, my special insoles and plenty of room for my toes when they are swollen. What a relief. These are a replacement for Doris Boots 4E which are now well worn and too tight. I would advise anyone with foot problems to try DB Footwear because they are SO adaptable and made from very comfortable leather. Thanks guys!

I have been searching for years for comfortable shoes. My left foot is permanently swollen. As a pensioner I have to watch the pennies and have struggled buying high street shop shoes that fit and are comfortable. When I learned that you had a clearance sale on I happily bought a pair. Hello, Just thought it would be nice to pass on how delighted I am with my new shoes. Essentially with very wide feet, I have resorted to skate shoes for the last 20+ years, even with the widest skate shoes I had to resort to buying a few sizes up to accommodate my width. This obviously resulted in foot pain + pains up the leg and back to compensate for ill-fitting shoes. I have looked into shoemaking and all sorts of things before discovering your site. I bought the widest fit. And have to say it's like having a permanent foot rub compared to the shoes which genuinely just hurt. Not only that but the quality is incredibly apparent. soft leather and no missed stitches. I am only sorry that I didn't find you earlier and avoid some of the years of uncomfortable feet. During lockdown I have been walking regularly but my surgically altered left foot is always sore and painful, despite my best efforts to protect it. Since discovering DB Wider Fit Shoes, I am constantly amazed at the comfort and style of the shoes, but I thought my daily 3 mile walk (OK, I'm just boasting now!) would be asking a little too much. How wrong I was. I walk down country lanes where there can be gravel and badly surfaced areas and over these last few months I think I have felt every stone and chipping along the route. Good Morning. I drove up from Harrow on Thursday after making an appointment with the fitting centre. What a great time investment that turned out to be. The lady who came down to see me was extremely helpful and patient. I tried a few different styles while I was there and also learnt exactly what fitting I should be looking for. At 78 I must have visited many shoe retailers in my time and rarely do they even measure feet properly. Just received my Seb shoes, size 10, 6V and I am absolutely delighted with them. Only tried them on so far but they feel perfect. I have had shoes/boots from you in the past and they have all been great. This time, I, rather warily, ordered online rather than visiting in person. I ordered a size bigger than usual (normally I am a size 9) and they have turned out to be spot on. My podiatrist recommended DB Shoes and I've not looked back. My feet he describes as "giant" and I am either an 8E width or 6V. Due to fallen arches and overpronation, I have custom orthotics and have just had a second pair made. Hello,I have Morton's neuroma in both my feet, and for years I have worn the same walking shoe every day for everything. It's the only shoe I found in a U.S. size 6 in a 3E width. I desperately wanted a nice pair of knee boots to go with a costume, and I came across your Kelling at Hitchcock Shoes. I was skeptical of the variable width, but I did further searching and found your website and measuring chart. It was so helpful and reassured me enough to pay $200 plus shipping for the boots (UK size 4, 2V). You cannot know how happy I was to slip on those boots and walk around without any pain! Having studied a paper copy of your catalogue and also visiting your website I made the decision to travel down from Mansfield, Notts to your fitting centre (175 mile round trip). I have a foot brace and have other foot/ leg/back problems so finding shoes that fit is becoming a very real challenge. I was attended to by a lady called Jackie, who systematically worked out what size and width I required ( both feet being somewhat different ) and supplied me with various styles to try on, each one being an improvement on the previous as we narrowed down what would work best for me. I am diabetic and in July I "cooked" my big toes. I was enjoying myself at a forest school campfire cooking sausages. My blood sugar levels carefully managed and perfect, foot circulation great and a pair of sturdy hiking boots protecting me from sticks and stones. Unfortunately, due to the diabetes I have lost some of the feeling in my toes and to my horror a few hours later I took of my boots and the skin of my big toes came off too! I'd never thought about being unable to feel the heat from the embers of the campfire I had been stood in! They've taken 5 months to heal and an infection in the bone meant I had to have half of my right toe amputated.
I now have to wear special insoles and once I moved out of the orthotic shoes into real shoes I could not find anything to accommodate my insoles and my feet. Believe me I tried. I have 50 or more pairs of shoes and boots in carefully chosen colours and styles and not one of them would do the job! I was devastated. The trauma of losing a toe and being in bandages for months on a diet of antibiotics was bad enough, but the loss of the shoes that gave me great pleasure, self esteem and confidence was the straw that broke the donkeys back.
Then I found your company and my world was transformed. At last shoes that fit, were safe and attractive for me at 55 years old. The range of colours is fabulous and even with my new shoe rules of no heels, no slip-ons, must have adjustable laces or straps and must allow room for my new insoles, I can find plenty to tempt me. Orders and deliveries are easy, fast and no trouble. I already have three pairs and am now waiting for another two, likely to be here today. I've ordered some "Florence" in ruby red and am particularly looking forward to those come Christmas!
One tip to newcomers- find a local stockist where you can try a shoe on and check the sizing is correct. Then go online and have a full range of colours etc to choose from. My nearest stockist was a few miles away but they were very kind, letting me try on different styles of fasten and sizes before coming home to order exactly what I needed. Then I found a person in your employ by the name of Sam who turned out to give the most amazing service to find a pair of boots to fit. My feet are different sizes, with the largest foot measuring 9.5 and the other foot measuring 8.75. I spoke to customer services who told me the sizing was generous which encouraged me to request a brochure. At the back of the brochure is a foot measuring chart, and to my surprise my 9.5 foot was within the size 9 fitting. I then went on to order size 9, 6V. Shoes arrived within a couple of days, and the fit is perfect. The clever use of 2 in-soles per foot allowed me to adjust the fitting per individual foot. So, for the largest foot I have one in-sole and the other I use 2 in-soles. Visually both feet look the same size. The added bonus is that (for the first time in years) I am able to enjoy complete toe wiggle when wearing the shoes. Design is modern and feminine which adds to the wow factor. To say that I am pleased with my purchase is an under statement. Thank you DB Shoes, you have done me proud. Needless to say I have put in an immediate 2nd order for these shoes in a different colour.

I have, for some months had swollen legs and feet due to water retention. While the legs have improved the feet have been more stubborn and throughout this period finding footwear which I can get into, let alone feel comfortable, has been a problem. For work trainers just don’t go down well, nor would they if I was attending a function anywhere. Online it is fairly easy to buy clothing but footwear needs to be far more precisely fitted. Even wider fittings offered by other very reputable names are wearable, generally, if put on first thing in the morning when I seem to be at my ‘slimmest’. This is fine on days when I have to leave for work early but not so good later when gravity has got involved. Often it is their lack of depth in the box has let them down.
I’m a Google Warrior and when I came across your site and the attention to detail which included width, depth and variety of design appealed very quickly. Finding also that you were less than 40 miles away from my home in Leicester and that you had a fitting centre (I’ve not been successful in buying shoes online) was the icing on the cake.
I have to report that having requested a catalogue over the weekend it arrived today which is in itself excellent service so well done there.
However, I’m also an impatient character so even before it arrived I visited the centre yesterday, 29 Oct, and was pleased to walk away with a very comfortable pair of Havant’s which I have been wearing around my flat to get the ‘bumps’ in the right places. I am impressed by the extra comfort that simply removing just one of the 2 insoles can make. It is a well thought through design which I am sure is repeated over much of the range.

I own many pairs of DB shoes. Their best aspect is that they are made from very good quality materials. Of course, this is something that we - the customers - have to pay for; and, sometimes, I feel like we overpay. On the positive, DB charge only £5 delivery for a multiple shoe order (up to 5 pairs(?)), offer free returns and have regular sales to even things out a bit. It is also worth mentioning that their customer service is exemplary [...Tina deserves a special mention]! An issue that I feel DB should address is the limited number of styles that they have for younger people/non-oaps. I am in my late 30s (female) and I view the majority of DB shoes as outdated; particularly, the work-style shoes (in fact, I don't know why they're called 'work-style' if the only people wearing them have retired)! Specific shoe styles that I would recommend, however, are the Jay boots, Doris boots (nubuck only) and Yoko trainers. I also really liked the Anthea and Evesham trainers but these styles have been [sadly] discontinued (although there may still be a few Antheas left on the website).

I very much wish that DB would get a grip on the garish prints that they 'infect' their canvas shoe section with every year. Admittedly, DB are imaginative in their designs (and persistent), but their canvas shoes are not in the price range to be fanciful, wear for a few days, summer throwaways! For the price paid, the majority of people want classic, neutral styles that they can bring out year after year. Once you have the basics DB then, fine, introduce a few [wearable] patterns (at discounted prices - they are always left at the end of summer, anyway); but I take issue when: (1) my 10 year old niece likes the shoes more than I do; and (2) patterned/embellished shoes are released at the expense of plain shoes. Case in point concerning the latter: DB no longer do a plain, dark navy canvas shoe. Every single range that had this shoe (Anthea, Senna, Tara and Jura) has had it replaced by dark navy with contrasting stripes, or dark navy with contrasting polka dots ...and each and every one of them is God-damn awful (particularly the polka dots)!
To balance this review, one canvas shoe that I am liking this year is the new Yoko (baseball cut with bumper sole). I am hoping that DB will introduce a dark navy into the Yoko range for next summer.

I have to say how pleased I am with my boots. I have EEE wide feet and I have had surgery for a bunion which has left me with a painful foot and sensitive toes and normally the only footwear that is comfortable are open toe sandals. Also that foot is wider and deeper than the other so the boots with the removable insoles are perfect. I have a good fit on both feet. The shoes are just perfect for me a fantastic fit and a good colour for the winter that goes with practically everything. I am very pleased indeed as I find buying shoes an absolute nightmare. I have broken my ankle and the outside bone of my left foot over two years ago. The ankle and part of the foot still swell up and get stiff when walking and standing for prolonged periods. Hello, I am writing you this email to tell you how happy I am at the excellent service I've had from widerfitshoes.co.uk. I ordered my shoes on the 27th of May and they despatched within 2 hours and arrived the very next day. I am 27 years old and since I was a child I've had problems with my wide feet and shoe fittings. High street shops with wider fitting shoes have either been too tight or too small and theres no in between! I ordered your Westport casual shoes and I absolutely love them, they are so comfortable and feel so luxurious but they also look fashionable that a woman my age can wear them (another huge problem that people my age with wide feet have!). Hi I am writing to thank you for your wonderful shoes that 'fit' Ten years ago I had a heart transplant and after eleven months I had a total hip replacement and another total hip replacement nine weeks later. I have been struggling for years to walk properly. I was lucky to get in touch with a good physiotherapist who measured me up for insoles that straighten me up as one leg is shorter then the other. None of my own shoes would fit I gathered all my beautiful shoes that do not fit anymore gave them to a friend and I was lucky I saw your wonderful selection of shoes and ordered from your catalogue The shock I got when they arrived, they didn't have that wide shoe look you know the ones I'm talking about. I was desperate for a pair of slippers that were as comfortable for me like the wider fit Glossop I am wearing. Which by the way is the most comfortable shoe I have ever had. Related to the bunions, I have moderate arthritis in my toe joints. I have been wearing walking shoes or boots for years. I've had to wear them with smart clothes and even once with a ball dress after trying hard to last as long as possible with court shoes. I had no idea my feet were as small as they are. My shoes have been size 6-7 in walking shoes. I am a size 5 EEEE. I have had one week now in a pair of your shoes. You have no idea how happy I have felt and I'm just telling everyone about your fashionable looking shoes for wider feet. I bought a pair of summer sandals as well. They look great and they fit my deep insoles. I can't wait until your winter brochure comes out. I would like an up to date looking ankle boot in brown and another pair in black. I'd love a knee high boot as well! The assistant I bought the shoes from said that she would be able to fit me with most shoes - a style for every occasion. I was served in Pershore whilst on holiday with family in Worcester. I found out about DB Shoes on a discussion page on an arthritis website. I simply put something like 'arthritis feet shoes' into Google. Then I found a shop in Pershore on your website and spent over an hour there being fitted. I began insisting on trying boots on only because I was certain I would only flip flop in and out of sandals. Then the assistant persuaded me to try some sandals and I saw that they were deep enough to take my insoles. I was utterly amazed. Utterly. Speechless. For years, I have dreaded shoe shopping. The last pair I bought in a high street store was a pair of brogues DocMartins. I hate them. I got them because I thought I'd try to wear something more suitable for working in a school. But I'm clumsy in them and really they look too manly for me. What an absolute joy it is to see the trendy styles you have. I have no need to look further. I have been a regular customer of Wider Fit Shoes for several years now and found the service is absolutely brilliant. On Occasion I have purchased sandals that were too long but chose not to return them.. Knowing how difficult it can be to find wide fit shoes I'm sure I will come across someone who will be able to fully appreciate the quality and fit of the sandals. After losing one shoe at the swimming baths (Don't ask!) and about to go on holiday shortly after, I purchased 'Rosie' Having read the review I did wonder whether I should go for a smaller size but decided that I really liked the look and didn't want to be stuck should the small size be too small. Rosie are a bit long for me but like another of your customers I tie the laces more tightly and that reduces slippage. My next pair will be one size smaller. Rosie really does make your feet look slimmer and they a very stylish just right for any occasion! I have had lots of compliments on them. The quality of wider fit shoes is top notch - Ok after 5/6/7 years my Pansy shoes and my house shoes finds the velcro worn and not so sticky but I wonder where in the world could you find shoes that last as long? My Phoebe shoes are still perfect. I do find the price to be on the more expensive side initially but the quality and fit more than make up for this... because they last so long (I have just calculated that my pansy shoes have cost me just over £13 for each year and still going well!) Making them a fantastic bargain therefore value gains top marks too. In addition, buying during sale time increases the opportunity to grab the most delectable shoes. Goodness you can buy shoes that are named - how delightful is that? Having diabetes means I have to be careful about sustaining any damage to my feet and the fit of wider fit shoes is usually spot on and of course if I was at all unhappy I can opt to use the returns system. Finally I must say that my Wider fit shoes are the softest, lightest most comfortable shoes I have discovered. I have found staff, should I need to contact them by phone or email, to be exceptionally responsive and helpful. Wider fit shoes were recommended to me by a very helpful Chiropodist, I haven't looked back since and recommend Wider Fit to everybody who has a need to have non traditional fitting and desires to have soft, comfortable, supportive stylish shoes whatever your age.
