What's So Good About Having Removable Insoles?

What's So Good About Having Removable Insoles?
As you browse our website, or see our social media posts, you might see our frequent mentions of "Removable Insoles" and wonder "What's all the fuss about?"

So we thought we'd share a few of the benefits to make sure you understand how our dual fitting/variable width styles can help you find the perfect fit for your feet.

So, here goes...but before you read the article why not watch our video on changing the fit on wider fitting shoes which include removable insoles.

Ultimate Adjustability

When we make a shoe, we don't know who is going to wear it. Everyone's feet vary in width as well as length. We build special features into our shoes to make them as adjustable as possible - so that you get the perfect fit without having to go to the expense of bespoke footwear.

Shoes are made on a last that is a fixed shape. Though we offer different fittings to get a closer fit to your feet, this may still not be quite right for you. We therefore make our shoes with removable insoles (sometimes called 'socks'), which allows you to adjust the internal space of the shoe to fit the shape of your feet.

Removable insoles can help in several ways:

- One foot wider than the other? You can remove an insole on just the wider foot, to make the shoe more comfortable.

- Bunion or hammer toes? If on one foot, but not on the other - you can remove the insole in just one shoe to give more depth for the affected foot, whilst the other shoe can have more insoles if not as much space is needed.

- Feet which sometimes swell? Making your shoes feel tight & uncomfortable? Removing an insole gives one or both feet the extra space needed.

- Need to use orthotic insoles? Many people wear orthotic insoles to help with their gait. Removing our insoles gives space within the shoe for your own orthotic insoles and allows your foot to sit comfortably within the shoe.

Start by measuring your feet!

When was the last time you measured your feet? Most of us haven't checked our size since childhood! You may be surprised...
See our size guide here.

Please remember. If wearing an orthotic insole to measure around your foot with the orthotic insole in place to ensure you order a deep enough shoe.

Removable Insoles

We chose different materials for our insoles - to suit the shoe. Our insoles are padded, to add an extra layer of comfort for your feet. When you see the icons below then you will know that the shoe will have removable insoles.
