I suffer with Plantar Fasciitis in one foot, so need arch support. Although the slippers don't provide any, using my custom made ones have worked wonders. The deeper/wider fit helps to accommodate them. Together with the velcro fastening and firm surround i have enough support to walk in them without feeling like I'm teetering on high heels. These have been literally the only thing I have been able to wear as slippers/shoes until recently so am very pleased. Only downside is they make your feet sweaty if worn for long periods and now after a couple of months the insoles have compressed under my custom ones, so think i may soon have to look at some replacements. All in All very happy especially after all the previous hassle since xmas time, just trying to find something to wear that didn't feel like i had a sharp stone in my shoe!!

Purchased for 91 year old father who has very swollen feet and lower legs due to water retention. These house shoes are brilliant. Previously father had been buying larger size to fit - had gone up 2 sizes but now back to normal size. These do not rub the heel. The Velcro fitting stays in place as it has been designed to rather than just barely gripping the edge. The hard sole means he can wear them out when he has to go. I have purchased 4 pairs of these so he can rotate and air each pair as he wears them all day. Fantastic shoe. Company very helpful when we tried the leather shoes but they rubbed in certain places but had no trouble sending them back. Even had discussion about which styles would be best to try. Very helpful and friendly company.

This house shoe is brilliant. My 90 year old father was having great difficulty find shoes to fit due to fluid retention. He had gone up two sizes in another brand. These shoes are deep and Dad has gone back to his old shoe size. The tongue opens up fully so it is easy to get the shoe on/off. I have been wearing DB Wider Fit shoes for about 5 or 6 years now. Prior to that I struggled to find a shoe that would give me sufficient width for my feet to feel comfortable for any reasonable period of time and invariably I would end up buying shoes a size larger than I required to get the width, as ordinary wide fit shoes always fell very much short of the mark. They are all Velcro fastening as I no longer have the dexterity in my hands and fingers to mess about tying laces. I can now order my shoe size (size 11) confident in the knowledge that I will get the width I require for a comfortable fit. I can Highly recommend DB Wide Fit Shoes on all accounts. If I could ask for one thing from a personal point of view it would be for the Velcro fastening to operate in reverse or to fix on the inner side of each shoe rather than the outer but that's for me and does not detract from the overall quality and convenience of the shoes themselves.

The sole is sturdy and when they arrived they felt safe but after a week of use on my laminate floors they began to slip alarmingly underfoot. I initially ordered a size 7 which was far too long. I then reordered a size 6 which is a tad short but which I have kept in the hope it will stretch. The difference in length between the 7 and 6 leaves me wondering why you don't do half sizes. You are, after all, supposed to cater for awkward fits. I'm sure a 6.5 would have been perfect and my ratings would then have been at least a strait 4 stars.

I've bought quite a few pairs of 'Wider Fit Shoes' since my Orthotics Consultant suggested the brand to me a few years ago. As a long-term diabetic suffering from peripheral neuropathy, it's really important that I wear the right shoes. That means comfortable, well made, well fitting, and thoughtfully designed shoes. All of which apply to 'Wider Fit Shoes'.
I think the best thing about them is their overall comfort. For example, extra care has obviously been taken on the inside of the shoes to make sure there are no rough seams, uneven edges, or anything else that could eventually begin to rub or irritate the wearers' feet. These particular shoes (called 'Hallam') also come supplied with a pair of matching removable insoles. And so I can thoroughly recommend them. The only negative criticism I have is that I find the whole range of 'Wider Fit Shoes' quite expensive compared to shoes you might find on the high street. But then shoe shops on the high street don't offer such a large choice of wide and extra-wide fitting shoes anyway.

I've been used to wearing sandals round the house as in the past I've found most slippers rather flimsy and they keep falling off. These house shoes however seem more substantialy made than most slippers, they are comfortable and have a strap fastening so they stay on. The sole is quite thick so should be hard wearing, and you can also wear them for a quick trip outdoors.

I now have concrete floors rather than carpet and was looking for house shoes that would allow me to put further insulation in the sole. This appears to be doing the job.
I have already a maroon pair of Daniel which I would say is exactly the same shoe. This has lasted well and continues to be my second pair of "slippers". PS Because of my wide feet and dropped arches I was advised to use a house shoe rether than a conventional slipper.
