This is my second pair of Andes boots.
The first pair two winters ago started off ok albeit the length of size 7 was too short and size 8 was too long so I settled for the 8. My feet slid forward so my orthotics were not very comfortable but I needed boots so I stuck with them. Over time one zip came away so had to use the laces to fasten. This became intolerable as I had to leave zip closed but I couldn’t get the orthotics in easily. This winter I ordered many boots from DB but none were suitable so I bought the Andes again as they were better than any. So based on the sizing and the broken zip I can only give them 3 stars overall. The leather is soft and the boot looks nice but comfort and performance is not brilliant I’m afraid. Not started wearing the new pair yet so only time will tell.

If you have a prominent bunion, avoid these boots. The boots are beautiful, but be very careful if you have a bunion as the boot is not wide enough to accommodate a prominent bunion. I have had to cut the stitches on the boot and cut off some of the leather to fit my bunion. I may still have to abandon them - I should have bought a wider pair, but I thought that 6V should be wide enough.

These boots are really comfortable when on, however, the problem for me is getting them on. I chose these boots due to the zip so it would be easier for my painful hand condition to put on but i found the zip is awfully stiff and very difficult to pull up. i hope in time it eases as i need help puting them on as i cant do laces and the zip is too stiff. Being independant is important so an easier zip would go a long way to maintaining indipendance. they are comfortable when on and help me maintain my balance. The overall fit was perfect a very comfortable she but my only challenge is the zip.

I regret buying these and would return them if it was not too late. Once I actually get them on and fastened they are comfortable. However as I have arthritis in knees and hips I struggle to get them on. I feel they would be so much improved by having the zips on the inside of the boot rather than the outside, or even better having two zips.
I also wish that you made shoes and boots with more of a square front as my first three toes are all the same length and I consequently have to squash them into footwear.
These comments are not a criticism of the workmanship. I am sure for some people the boots would be fine but there must be many others like me who struggle.

These boots are wonderful as I suffer with rheumatoid arthritis because they are deep and wide I can use my sole inserts and still have a good fit and comfort I would recommend the wider fit shoes and boots for people in the same situation

I love these shoes, I bought them in order to wear the orthotics which I recently had made. The idea that I can remove two insoles and put in my own is great. It also means that if the shoes stretch due to wear, then I can add one or more soles to make them fit tighter. The side zips together with laces are a great idea, I just use the zips to put them on and off and leave the laces tied\.

These boots are the perfect fit with my AFOs. It is extremely difficult to find shoes that can accomodate the AFOs as they are bulky and I have tried numerous styles. These were ordered in hope rather than expectation but they have proved to be a winner. Comfortable and also snug around the ankle, I feel confident when walking in them. They are also neat looking, something that is important when you have no choice but to wear shoes three sizes larger than your normal size! I bought these in the sale, so really good value for money. I would buy again at full price but consider it somewhat discriminatory that shoes from specialist providers are so much more expensive than ordinary shoes in a similar style. I would like to see a wider range of colours in this style now that I know they fit and are suitable for me.

I'm thrilled to bits with these, the first footwear that's actually fitted me properly for years, they've not needed "wearing in" and I can finally walk without constantly moaning about my feet. They are extremely lightweight, roomy but fit firmly enough around the ankle for support with adaptable laces for better fit and the zip for easy dressing. My only slight issue is I struggle with the left zip, probably more me than the boot!
I've just ordered more boots in burgundy and if they are as comfortable, might get really brave and try a heeled shoe.

I have diabetic neuropathy and have lost sensation in my feet. I can walk out of shoes without realising so boots are much better. These fit snug on my feet and are so comfy. They were exactly as shown in your catalogue. They look good and when I tried them on they were comfortable.
I have not worn them yet other than trying them on so hopefully they will stay comfortable as the winter arrives when I will definitely have the chance to wear them in.
Additionally, I would like to complain about the type style you have chosen for customers comment. It is in italics and is very small pale blue text. It is difficult to read back to make sure there are no typo errors. Please could you change the text to Arial, point size 10 or larger.
