The shoes were bought for general wear, in particular to be smarter during customer visits. My feet were already wide but the development of the dreaded bunion as well makes it hard to find comfortable shoes that look decent with a work dress or suit.
These shoes tick most of the boxes. They look like normal shoes and they are wide and deep enough for my toes. I do think they need a lot more padding in the inner sole, though - I can only wear them for any length of time with an extra insole as otherwise they are very hard underfoot.

The shoe was comfortable enough the first time I tried it on. The leather is nice and soft and I assumed they would be as comfortable as my previous purchases from DB.
I bought them for a wedding last month. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the strap to a length where the shoe felt secure and had to put it on the tightest hole, but even that was a little loose.
By the time I was ready to leave for the wedding, it was so uncomfortable, I had to change shoes. Really disappointed. If I had kept the box, I would return them.
Having said all of that, it was the first time I had worn a heel for a few months and perhaps if the strap had been elasticated, it may have provided a better fit. Also, the stitching wasn't of the best quality.
