The oval toe shape and seamless front make this trainer look less bulky than others The 2 removable insoles are good and give plenty of toe space and room for my orthotics without cramming my foot . Very comfortable and practical but stylish for a trainer. I've used them frequently since for sightseeing when there is lots of walking and terrain can be variable. Although l like Widerfit shoes in most respects l do find the top edge of the shoes generally very hard and not soft or flexible enough for people with tender swollen feet. l am referring to the top part around the heel area and where there are bits of stitching which whilst no doubt they are essential in the constuction of the shoe it would be good if attention could be focussed on any other way of cushioning the area so it doesn't rub on the wearers heel and over time cause sores .

I was disappointed with these shoes. On arrival, they seemed to fit, when walking on carpet, but when worn outside, my toes were painfully cramped, therefore impossible to wear.
Though the width was satisfactory at the widest part of both feet, as per the catalogue measuring chart, the shoes were more tapered at the toe end. This was not clearly apparent in the catalogue photographs.
I have bought several different types of shoes and been very happy with my choices. This was not the case this time.

I usually take size 7, but the Whitworth 7 is a continental size 40 not 41. Returned item for replacement with a size 8 and bingo - a perfect fit.

Brilliant!
I suffer with lymphedema and these trainers stretch and I can wear them all day. I did a DIY job on them and replaced the laces with elastic so that they continue to adjust during the days wear. I spoke to a member of staff about this as I was ordering a second pair and was told that Widerfit are now offering accessories and we spoke about elasticated laces which I believe were being considered. My DIY elastic job works really well so maybe you will consider elastic laces for us Lymphedema suffers?
