I use orthotic insoles and took both inserts out to put them in. Wore a standard socks, plenty of room in the shoes to wriggle my toes and think I could get away with a thicker pair of socks for winter. Very solid shoe that is comfortable to wear and looks good to boot! .

Very comfortable walking shoes. Well constructed. High quality. Waterproof, as I had lovely dry feet after a wet and muddy walk.
Initially, they felt heavy to walk in but that was down to the robust sole which is required for all terrains. However, I soon got used to the feeling.
As it was my first order with DB I was a little apprehensive about ordering the right size. I followed the DB measuring system and found my shoe size to be smaller than I normally buy. So instead of a 7 I ordered a 6 and the DB fit was correct. The DB width was also correct. Admittedly compromises were made but DB's advice was 'spot on'.
I now have a great pair of good quality walking shoes. I feel confident they will survive many, many miles of walking.

This is my third pair of these walking boots. I am so pleased they are now made in leather because they are so much easier to clean than nubuck when walking in winter! Nubuck is lovely and the colours are very stylish but I use these boots for country walking. They are immediately comfortable, they require no breaking in and are the most comfortable boots I have ever bought. I have bunions on one foot, a fused big toe on the other following two bunion operations. I have hammer toes and dropped metatarsal arches. My feet are wide and I've always had trouble getting comfortable shoes. These walking boots have no nasty seams to rub the feet. All my shoes are now from DBwiderfit....I never look elsewhere. Keep up the good work!

This is my third pair of the Wyoming shoe in a 6V size 4 fitting as they are such a comfortable fit and I just wear them all the time when working in the field, the garden and walking the dog! So I basically live in them when outside!
My second pair was purchased because the stiching on my very first pair was just beginning to come undone and they were losing their water-tightness so I thought it is time to renew them so I purchased the leather pair as at the time there wasn't any suede pairs available in the size I wanted. To begin with I did struggle a little with the leather ones as the leather just needed to become a little softer and more "pliable" to the shape of my feet but this is now sorted and they are as comfortable as the suede ones.
The third pair which is the Navy suede I purchased when I was thinking that I wasn't going to be able to get on with the leather ones and that I had made a mistake - but this soon seemed to rectify itself as explained above. I decided to keep the Navy ones for spare - so as of yet, I haven't actually worn them because they are for when the other two pairs finally conk out!
On the whole having purchased three pairs of the same style of outdoor shoe or boot, or whatever you refer to it as, I personally find them extremely comfortable,very practicle and far, far better than wearing wellington boots for such a long period of time. My orthotics fit inside these shoes beautifully and there is still plenty of room for my mis-shapen toes due to my excessively bad bunion. Highly recommend but each to their own as they might not suit everyone but then that's the beauty of being able to return them if not suitable. Worth trying.

This is my second pair of the Wyoming which I purchased in the size 6V due to my dreadful mis-shaped feet.
My first pair in the black suede the stiching is just becoming to come undone in places and also they have lost their "waterproof-ness" (if there is such a word), as now my feet get wet which isn't good.
I very much wanted to purchase the brown suede but these were completely out of stock in my size so I purchased the brown leather.
To begin with I did have a major problem with the leather needing to "soften up" so that it would "ply" to my foot, in particular the "tongue" part of the shoe as this was really rather quite uncomfortable for a while until it began to "soften up". I had a while of walking with my laces not fully threaded in order to try to eleviate this problem. I got there in the end and as always, I am so pleased with this product. Would highly recommend if you do a lot of walking.

These study shoes are well suited to walking in poor or temperate weather, whether you are following a path or scrambling on rocky or damp ground in the countryside.
Having already owned the Boot version (Nebraska), I knew I could treat my shows with protective rain / stain spray without causing any cosmetic issue. They clean well with a suede brush (the modern plastic kind) and a 'shoe claw' works well for removing any dried mud in the rugged pattern on the sole.
These shoes are robust and water tight. As you can imagine, they keep your feet too warm for summer, I've been breaking mine in on cooler hays for Autumn / winter ahead.
I wear size 38 in the shoe, but would recommend going up 1 size for the boots unless you want to only wear very thin socks!

Unfortunately they're no good for me. I can get away with DB boots but seemingly not shoes. DB's fitting method is not based on width but circumference. So you could have narrow but deep feet and their fitting guide woukd suggest they'll fit, but they won't. My feet are very wide at the front, but not at the back and they aren't deep at all. So I can't tie the shoes tight enough to keep them on and my feet slide to the front of the shoe, although the width is right.
If DB can give me any help with this, I'd be very grateful because it's impossible to find shoes that fit my triangular feet. I was hopeful of DB but it's too uncomfortable to wear boots in the house all day, particularly with orthotics in the back as well.
Can DB give me any help or advice?

I wanted a pair of walking shoes to replace my worn out boots, however as I don't do as much walking as I used to, boots are overkill. These shoes fitted my purpose exactly, especially as I have a wide foot and the choice of fittings was an appreciated bonus, very comfy. We now go on short walks (4 to 5 miles) in Lincolnshire and on holiday and so far the shoes have performed perfectly. If there is a downside they are on the heavy side but that is a price more than acceptable for the sturdiness of the shoes. Well pleased.

They're quite heavy, but the room they provide for my wide feet with bunions and a painful toe makes up for that; in fact my toe hasn’t hurt since I started wearing them! If I had known about these shoes year's ago it would have saved me a lot of pain, I have very wide feet hammer toes, and have had an ulcer on one toe, these shoes give me the width and depth so there is no pressure, I can walk in comfort it’s like putting on a pair of slippers, but with the support of a shoe, also the ones I have are waterproof, so I can walk the dogs in all weather’s.

Well made and comfortable shoe. The sizing was correct although I am right on the cusp on one width into another. So I'll take out one inner sole when my feet are hot or socks are thicker. The boots are more winter boots as don’t let air in but seem to keep water out. I don’t normally buy shoes online but these were a good buy.

Best shoes ever as slipped on easily and wore them immediately with no discomfort at all, I usually fight to get shoes on at all and have to wear them in to make them comfortable. They do repel water too. only downside is that the pretty pattern on the sole causes mud to imbed into it and I have to dig it out with a knife.
If only you made simply ridged wellies in boots with this last I would be the happiest person in the country as I tramp over muddy wet fields daily with the dog.

Their weight is a major problem.
You can have width, stability and materials par excellence but weight has to be factored in.
My climbing boots and shoes from my active former life are lighter. As one gets older one's feet get wider if one still walks. I am 85 years old.
I am using these shoes but the weight will put many folk off them. I almost sent them back but wear them less frequently than I would like.

I've had these walking shoes a few weeks now and honestly, I cannot fault them, they are just so comfortable. I have orthotic insoles and there was plenty of room for them, I usually take UK size 5 but this size 38 fitted perfectly. The Wyoming shoe. My review is as follows:-
I have a seriously bad bunion and the position of my big toe is not where most people's big toe should be, hence this has a knock-on effect to the other toes, i.e. hammer toes etc. Anyone else with a seriously bad bunion will know exactly what I am talking about. Also, there are other issues going on which do not help either, but I'm not going to go into that on here!
So generally I go up a shoe size to accommodate for the deformity in foot shape as normally I cannot find anything wide enough, even though they state "extra wide fit".
Well, thank goodness, I found this company on the internet and I took the time and the trouble to measure my feet according to their table and the results were rather surprising. So I used to always be a size 5 or 5.5 but would always go up to a size 6 to get the extra width or room that I required. With this incredibly wide fit shoe I have actually gone down to a size 4 and my orthotics fit in it just perfectly, which I was worried about, I must admit.
I measured out to be a 6V fit and I did order the size 5 but it was just a fraction too bit with regard to my heel slipping at the back of the shoe on both feet so I talked to the people at Wider Fit Shoes and I thought I would try the size 4 and I'm so pleased that I did. This shoe is just incredible. It is so comfortable and supportive. The cushioning too is just fantastic. In fact I am wearing it all the time outside.
Now I was concerned that it would not be waterproof as it is suede - but it is! Extra bonus! This shoe really does do "what it says on the tin" so to speak! If you have problem feet like mine and you wear orthotics, I would have no hesitation in recommending this shoe whatsoever. In fact, it's that good, I would love to order another pair in a different colour but the colour choices aren't that great at the present time - so I'll wait on this one as you never know they might decide to make them in an additional colour.
The added bonus here was the service from the Wider Fit Shoes company. To get a decent wide fit shoe, you do get charged a lot more money and they are expensive, but when you eventually find the right product, then that shoe and the money you have paid out, is well worth it. It is also such a refreshing change to not have to pay extra postage to return or exchange items and for this, I am also grateful as it is a good service.
Buying shoes for problem feet is not easy and I know if I was actually near their shop then I would be trying on lots of different shoes to be 100% sure that I am happy with my chosen choice so the free returns is really very much appreciated.
I really am so, so pleased that I have found this company. Their service is so good and I am so impressed. In fact I have now purchased 3 pairs of shoes from them and probably will purchase more in the future as and when I need them.
