Unfortunately had to return, although wide and deep at the front the heel was just too wide and deep for me. I have hallux rigidus and slightly dropped arches so need to accommodate an orthotic with lots of cushioning but my heel is standard width.
Sadly, the lacing metal loops and waxed lace meant I could lace securely enough to keep the heel in place. If they had been suitable I would have returned for a replacement because the right shoe lacing loops were not directly opposite each other (uneven spacing)

I loved the Nebraska walking boots so thought I'd try these as well. They are very solidly made and as others have said, a bit heavy, but I found them very comfortable.They have good arch support built in. I wouldn't wear them for hill walking as my feet slip out of them a bit at the back (my toes are broad but not my ankles) but for flat walks and gardening they should be fine.

These are sturdy comfortable walking shoes for my problem feet, however I do a lot of walking in long wet grass and they are not waterproof for this. I bought these good quality expensive (for me) shoes because they are advertised as waterproof, but they are not on cross country hikes. This is why I have dropped a couple of stars.
