My 2nd pair, when new was the most comfortable shoe ever. The heel was also properly shaped with a flat underside out to the rear out corners, which your shoes are normally not so. In wear the uppers remain excellent, the sole and heel have proved in both pairs to wear down far too quickly, A pair of walking shoes should be good for a thousand miles and yours usually do. These only last for just over three hundred. miles. I was glad I did not pay full price.

The shoes are as described, but I would prefer an option that does not assume that all people with wide feet are diabetic and do not walk much. I do not have swollen feet; I have wide feet and I walk about 6-8 miles a day (I have energetic dogs).
It would be nice if these shoes lasted longer than three months but, as I mentioned, they appear to have been designed for people with swollen feet who, presumably, don't walk much. The inserts allow me to wear these shoes but they are not as well-fitting as they could be, were they to be for "normal" wide feet. My feet slide around inside them (like wearing flip-flops) but the alternative would be worse (shoes that are too narrow).
There seems to be a huge problem in the shoe-making industry, which appears to assume that people are all the same size and shape as we were in the 19th century. The people who design doors have adjusted to allow for a taller population, so why can't the shoe industry adjust to people with wider feet?
There are several people amongst my neighbours who have the same complaint. Surely there is a business opportunity here?

We have bought 2 pairs so far but after a certain amount of wear the metal where the laces thread into pull out of the shoe. When the first one came away they were still wearable but when the second came off we threw them away and bought another pair.
As these are good for my husbands feet we shall continue to buy them but thought you should know this is a weakness

I think the build quality of the shoes from what I have seems to be better compared to the similar prices shoes on the market today. The shoes should last a very long time. I feel that as the company makes wide fit shoes that there is some room for improvement. I think the size 9 in this shoe should have the width of a size size in this shoe too. As this would truly address wider feet problems because as you increase the size the width increases but so does the length which is a big problem with most shoes on the market.
